Lower School

Grades One through Five

The link between freedom and responsibility is a theme that runs through Lower School life. Early on, children learn that with freedom comes an ability to take risks and to be responsible for their own learning. Children are given choices, and are expected to behave in a responsible way toward others and their environment. Informal and respectful relationships among students and teachers foster an atmosphere of care, open communication, and trust that influences the student beyond the Lower School.
