What is the Catlin Gabel Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund supports the School’s operating budget with annual, unrestricted gifts that help fund our programs, students, and teachers. Instructional materials, computers, library books, drama productions, science lab materials, facilities maintenance, and teacher salaries are just a few examples of Annual Fund dollars at work.

Doesn’t Tution Cover Essential Expenses?

No, tuition funds about 85 percent of the annual cost of a Catlin Gabel education. The School supplements the remaining cost per student through gifts to the Annual Fund and investment earnings.

The Annual Fund and the Endowment

Catlin Gabel School has three sources of revenue: tuition, contributions, and investment income from the endowment. The School recognizes that in the long-term, Catlin Gabel needs to increase endowment to provide a reliable source of income for recurring operating expenses. In the short-term, we must balance the budget by increasing Annual Fund contributions.

Make Your Annual Gift Today

In the 2006-07 school year, Catlin Gabel School is counting on Annual Fund income of $809,000 in unrestricted donations for the operating budget. An Annual Fund Leadership committee composed of parents, alumni, faculty, and staff is helping us pursue this goal.
